The Beach Hut is situated in George Town at the mouth of the Tamar River on Tasmania’s scenic north coast.  There are a number of beaches ideal for surfing and other watersports as well as recreational areas suitable for families, including ' Lagoon Beach ', one of Tasmania’s best children’s beaches.

With an increasing demand for surf and street wear in the area The Beach Hut opened in 1999.
